A storm it is a’ coming

It be amazing how many people in the GOP (both men and women) seem to have a death wish when it comes to this Kavanaugh nomination.
We are seeing on almost a daily basis one or more party members come out and effectively convict the nominee of attempted rape by justifying what Kavanaugh has alleged to have done as perfectly normal activity for teenage boys across the country.
Clearly these people are off message and doing great damage to Brett Kavanaugh and his reputation because they are in effect admitting that they themselves believe he is guilty of attempted rape as charged.
As the old saying goes “friends like that, you don’t need enemies”.
The fact is at this point in time there is no evidence that the charges brought by this woman against Brett Kavanaugh have any basis.
All we have is the say so without collaboration of a single individual. Even the people who have been named as Witnesses have either walked back their statements supporting the charges or denied the incident ever happened.
Given the reality of the situation only the most tender minded brain donor will adopt the tactic that we are seeing presented by so many right-wing American politicians today.
The better program would simply be to stick to the facts, and let the lack of evidence speak for itself.
Of course that is not without risk.
All the Accuser has to do is made public the transcripts of her therapy sessions where she claims to have named Brett Kavanaugh as a sex offender before he became a household name.
While not evidence that would stand up in a court of law most likely it would be sufficient in the court of public opinion and convince all unbiased and honorable citizens of the United States of America that the nominee is indeed guilty of the charges brought against him.
But this Observer would be very surprised if the woman did that.
However this plays out it is supreme idiocy by the right-wing community to continue to try to justify attempted rape on the basis that all young men are guilty and that it is commonplace and acceptable in our society.
Sexual disrespect of women might be of course be acceptable in the more hardcore population of those of the Donald Trump persuasion today but that is hardly the majority or even a significant minority of the American citizenry and it is a tactical mistake of the highest order to imply otherwise.
